The generator is the thing nobody thinks about until the day it's needed, and the reason it won't start is usually that it has sat for months. We service them before that happens and diagnose them when it already has.

Common Questions
Straight answers.
- My generator won't start after winter — why?
- Almost always fuel. Petrol left standing for months goes stale and gums the carburettor, and the starting battery is usually flat as well. Both are routine fixes, and both are avoidable by running the generator under load for an hour every month or so.
- How often should an RV generator be serviced?
- Roughly every 150 hours of run time or once a year, whichever comes first — and it's the annual one people skip. Exercising it monthly under real load does more for reliability than anything else you can do.
- It starts but shuts down after a minute. What is that?
- Typically fuel starvation, an oil pressure or overheat sensor doing its job, or an exhaust/impeller problem on water-cooled units. It's protecting itself, so it's worth diagnosing rather than repeatedly restarting.
